Scheduled downtime tonight for any services on Diamond (my dedi). I will try and do it while MC server is empty. I'm aware there's something draining resources at the moment. I can't fix this because I can't log in to ssh on my phone (my logins are key based).
Just a heads up that I will be installing XenForo 1.2 on the forums sometime in the next couple of few days This is a major upgrade with a shitload of very nice user-facing changes, but expect some kinks that will need to be worked out
TF2 servers just went literally bananas and blasted load average to FUCKING OVER 300 (theoretically full load is ~8, very high load is ~16)
Will be doing updates to diamond tonight, I.e. Moving to MariaDB and if I can be bothered completely move to systemd (I've migrated 2/3, but now I need to move completely as updates are being blocked) Minecraft will go down for the db change.
same issue repeated itself, is either due to TF2 or to mysql (from hlstatsx), or both i've blasted up several mysql buffers/caches/whatever in response
TF2 SERVERS USED LITERALLY BANANAS! IT'S SUPER EFFECTIVE! DARKIMMORTAL IS CONFUSED. DARKIMMORTAL USES CACHE BLAST. IT'S NOT VERY EFFECTIVE.
Optimised mysql within an inch of its life (hence sporadic downtime in the last 30 mins), and also found the true cause of the broken streams system: MYSQL MOTHERFUCKING GUESSES CONFIG VARIABLE NAMES IF THEY DON'T EXIST - WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK AM I DEALING WITH HERE THIS IS LITERALLY RETARDED
Apologies for the recent site downtime, was installing https://github.com/pagespeed/ngx_pagespeed which should make the site dramatically faster once i'm done tweaking
motherfucking 94 out of 100 pagespeed score now (previously 80 ish) fucking amazing for such a heavy forum
All TF2 servers have been turned off until further notice due to a crash loop after the recent update
TF2 #8 disabled until further notice due to being completely unstable (since last breaking tf2 update)
At some point in the next two weeks (probably next week), I need to take my dedi down and switch to netctl to netcfg. I've been putting this change off for ages as attempting to boot my server in vkvm mode is a horrid nightmare, but anticipate downtime of all minecraft servers since I'm bound to fuck this up somehow. Arch, why you do this to me. Why didn't I stick to nice sane Debian.
Because the dark side of linux has chilli and you like damn fucking good chilli. But like all chilli's it makes you regret it later.
