Finally received the big payout from closing out my account from T. Rowe Price. I was able to pay off my only credit card, pay off my car, get caught up on monthly bills and yearly car insurance, and have a nice little nest egg to last me a while. I'm good.
Accepted a new job as a radio broadcast systems engineer! For people who know me well, I've been involved with my student station for years, and I've always wanted to work in the industry. This job I was not expecting to get, I originally applied in September. But then out of the blue Friday I got a call inviting me down and got offered the job yesterday! Also I get an Audi A3 as a company car. Not bad at all.
me2 i finally got a job. Will start on monday at mobile repair shop. I'm really exited and i can't wait to start working.
Got a bunch of ROTC kids laughing pretty hard today. I went shopping for some lunch, and decided to hit a local grocer. Stationed at the entrances were a bunch of US Army ROTC Cadets collecting items for something called "Stuff the Bus". It's a food drive meant to help school children in Maine. I stopped and talked with one of the Cadets who asked for a donation and handed me a slip of paper describing what they need. Basic shit like canned veggies, baby food, or dry pasta. He asked if I could buy one item on the list and donate it. BULLSHIT! ONE ITEM MY SWEET AMERICAN ASS! I fucking LOADED my cart up with shit they asked for. Diapers, baby food, peanut butter, canned soup, snacks for kids. The works. Then I remembered my own lunch and got some friend chicken and jalapeno poppers. Checking out, I got some cash back (using my debit card) to donate as well. Basically, I had one tiny bag of my crap and 7 other stuffed bags for them. I busted out to where they were grouped up and yelled: "Hey fellas, do me a solid and put this damn cart away when your done!" I then took my little bag of food, dumped my money in their donation bucket, and just walked away to my car. These guys were howling at the way I just sort of yelled my donation at them. I heard one say "Damn, if everyone did it like that..." It felt good to do something for my community like that.
Hey, always been a demon who tries to do the occasional good. That's what a HellJack is, anyway. I ain't the only one.
