Any ideas for a new notebook ? ^^

EDIT: Found what i was lookin for ^^

I asked a friend of mine via ICQ about good gamin notebooks, he sended me a link to a private company that offers a free configuration system (you REALLY can configurate almost anything), and gave me some more infos about noise of their builds etc. ......

    - Windows Vista Ultimate x64
    - 36 months premium guarentee Pickup&Return

    -> € 1,899

It may look a bit ordinary from the outside, but thats fine for me .....

My friend guarenteed me that these guys offer high quality, so i think i will order this config, because i trust him .... the bad thing is, they say that it can take 1-2 weeks :(

    -----------------------------------------------------------

Oh man ......... too much options :/

I wanna order a new Notebook, but i dont know which one ...... Well, it should be fast enough to run current games @ low settings /older games, not so noisy, big HDD, big battery AND ONLY MAX. 15,4 INCH SCREEN !!!!!! I hate 17" .....

Well, a Multimedia-Notebook. I thought about a Macbook Pro (and install an alternative, 2nd OS on a second parition to be able to play games) ....... well, am still on the look. Would be good, if you could help me.

Money isnt such a big deal, up to 2,000 € would be OK, i have enough on my bank account (lovely well payed mini-job + bought not that much PC Hardware in the last months = much money on the bank)

    Well, it should be:

    Core 2 Duo, 2Ghz+
    4 GiB RAM
    320 GB+ HDD
NVIDIA (!) Graphics card (should be fast)
15,4 inch screen, if possible, a non-glare one

Would be good, if you answer fast, i intended to order it this night, so it arrives at Tuesday/Wednesday. Im havin a little LAN the next weekend, and i wanted to use it there ..... + i will take it with me in the holidays = )

So far, this one would be my choice: http://salzburg.com.geizhals.at/eu/a437815.html

    Core 2 Duo P9700 2x 2.80GHz • 4096MB (2x 2048MB) • 500GB • DVD+/-RW DL (SuperDrive) • NVIDIA GeForce 9400M shared memory + 9600M GT 512MB • 2x USB 2.0/1x FireWire 800/Gb LAN/WLAN 802.11n/Bluetooth/SD-Kartenslot • Mini DisplayPort • Webcam • Multi-Touch Trackpad • beleuchtete Tastatur • 15.4" WXGA+ glare LED TFT (1440x900) • Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard inkl. iLife '09 • Li-Polymer-Akku • 2.49kg • 12 Monate Herstellergarantie

Is it still possible to install a second OS (like Vista x64) on it to play games ?!

Re: Any ideas for a new notebook ? ^^

I'm not really 100% into macbooks and such... so Im not sure about the dual OS. But i know some forum members here have that working.
If you would also consider other brands, what about MSI, I know they are quite "famous" in Germany, right.
And they have nice gaming notebooks:

    GT627
    http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=135&cat2_no=271&prod_no=1670
    http://salzburg.com.geizhals.at/eu/a400933.html
And alot cheaper than the macbook. Okay, CPU is slower, but is that worth 700 euro :|
But the GPU on the MSI is better :)
And some info about the GPU inside:
    http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-9800M-GS.12932.0.html
(Its a good website to compare notebook gpu's!)

Hell, I would buy it, if I had the money and need for it!

    More MSI notebooks here:
    http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=prodpage2&maincat_no=135&cat2_no=271

(I hope you don't hate MSI... then this msg is useless)

Re: Any ideas for a new notebook ? ^^

Mhhhh .... @ First one: Dont like the design ... the red in it hurts ma eyes.

Second one is more what i am looking for, but: Display resolution is too high imo, 1650 sounds nice, but keep in mind, that Notebook GPUs are that fast, that they can render such a high native resolution + see next point:
"Compared to desktop graphics cards, the 9800M GS should be a bit slower than the GeForce 9600M GT." :(
<- That instantly killed these Notebooks for me ..... friend of mine has a Notebook with the 9600 GT mobile graphics processor, and i think it shouldnt be any slower than than.

This here would fit more: http://www.one.de/shop/product_info.php?cPath=213_216&products_id=3322

    But:

    - One.de is known for a not-so-high quality like Apple or other famous companys
    - Available from 2nd of July ( :( )
    - I KNOW they are too noisy in 3D -.-

Hell ...... this is more work than i thougt ^^

Regarding 9800B GS vs 9600M GT..

The 9800M (MOBILE) is really better than the 9600M GT. It has better specs + 55nm instead of 65nm of the 9600)
    Check the benchmarks here:
    9800M GS:http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-9800M-GS.12932.0.html
    9600M GT: http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-9600M-GT.9449.0.html

Anyways.... ok, you don't like red... you also dislike ATI I suppose...

    What about this one:
    MSI GT627Q-9547, has a intel Quad-core + 9800M GS.
I'm not sure about noise, BUT, if you are willing to use some sort of external notebook cooling, you can control that quite easily
    Alternate link: http://www.alternate.de/html/produc...47/334774/?tn=HARDWARE&l1=Notebooks&l2=Gaming
    (And they have stock!)

I know now you dont like red + ATI + 17", but this one is quite nice, with ATI 4850 Mobile chip
    http://www.ultraforce.de/product_in...raforce---17---MSI-Gaming-Notebook-GT725.html
    (notebook check: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-4850.13975.0.html)

    Searched some more:
    Hyrican (never heard of..)
    http://www.redcoon.at/index.php/cmd...pid/B148512/cid/8038/Hyrican_M570RU_NOT01177/
    But got a 8800GTX on board :D And a fast CPU. But it's 17"

Not sure where you live exactly, but is there no Media Markt, Saturn or something similar around your place and check there?
    I found this: http://www2.saturn.de/webapp/wcs/st...=24019&ok=T_PRODUCTS&uk=proddetail&sort=price
Not the best, but it's "only" 1100 euro :)

    Good luck!
If you need more info, steam msg me or something!

ps: here is a dutch website, try find something similar in germany perhaps?
    http://www.xxodd.nl/index.php?p=bestel&ID=339 (with a GT260M!!)
    and
    http://www.btonotebooks.nl/

pps: from what i could tell... most "gaming" notebooks with 15.4" screens don't have the ultra high end cards inside. That would be the 17" and above models :)

Re: Any ideas for a new notebook ? ^^

lol, thx for "the help" xD

can you tell me, if it is still possible to install Vista besides to play ?! ^^

MediaMarkt/Saturn (same company, owned by the Metro group) is the biggest fail ever. Their prices are in 90% more expansive
It shouldnt be a fast-as-possible Notebook, aka "Desktop-Replacement". Quad-Cores/High End-GPUS only make a Notebook noisy, hot, and energy-eating.

17" is just too heavy btw + the biger screen consumes a bit more energy ..... the Notebook shall be able to play at least for 2+ hours a movie or so, the more you stuff in, the less time the battery will keep your Notebook alive.

But ye, im lookin into the 9800 GS now, it may consume less energy .....

Re: Any ideas for a new notebook ? ^^

OK... then.... you must indeed consider the 9800M GS or GT130M (also 55nm If i'm correct)

    I checked the dell/alienware website..
    http://www.alienware.de/configurato...sCode=PC-DE-LT-A51M15X-FC&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT

Maybe that is an option too??

Yes, I know mediamarkt/Saturn is the same group + expensive.. but here in NL they sometimes have a nice deal, just need to look for it.

Any other German websites I should check perhaps?

Let me know, what you decide btw :)

    - Intel WiFi Link 5300AGN
    - Integrated Bluwtooth
    - 8cell Li-Ion battery
    - HDMI, eSATA, 4x USB 2.0, Firewire IEEE 1394, DVI, microphone, speaker/SPDIF out, LAN, modem
    - Windows Vista Ultimate x64
    - 36 months premium guarentee Pickup&Return

    -> € 1,899

My friend guarenteed me that these guys offer high quality, so i think i will order this config, because i trust him .... the bad thing is, they say that it can take 1-2 weeks :(
