ok dark, turn the cars at the start around so everybody thinks he drives in the wrong direction but in fact it is the right one i agree, having multiple rounds would be better (and the track can be easier memorized for all our faggs here)
Exactly HOW are you gonna make a driving system? Will it be a vehicle, a movable terrain or will it be as simple as a truck model everyone stands on?
The driving system will be a func_tracktrain and a couple of path_track's simulated server-side into a full drivable vehicle using WASD as the controls. Basically I'm writing the entire system from scratch based around an entity that moves from point A to point B at a constant speed, so there is A LOT of work to be done. Acceleration, steering, collision detection, slope detection etc.
Who wants to see a video of what I've got so far? EDIT: Nvm, it's decided to start floating while accelerating >.>
I fear a lot of squaring coming up in this coding....acceleration, speed bleh bleh maths maths physics physics ugh
Yeah Atm everything is linear for testing purposes, or at least until I get slope detection to work and reverse not to make it spin insanely fast D:
Video finished processing at last - quoting in case anyone missed it on the last page. As for 0:28 onwards, well, that's what reversing does atm Edit: Annotated the fail D:
The driver should be hidden and in third person view mode. That would let the driver see where he/she's going and would allow allies to have an open platform
who doesn't want to try this server? currently, only geit and dark are on it though . at least they were yesterday.
