Well, just off the top of my head:

    1. First post is here. No introduction. No avatar.
    2. You're using an AOL email account. Usually used with disposable spam bots
    3. Your very first post links to a website advertising laptops for sale
    4. We get a metric fuck tonne of spam bots on our forums here.
So, please don't judge us too harshly. We have good reason to be suspicious.

    5. Laptops Direct are widely known for being awful, wouldn't put it past them to pay for shady advertising.
    6. I banned a spam bot today that uploaded a lovely woman in a bikini as an attachment, to distract me from the fucking sun tan lotion they were trying to sell. Clearly they are getting smarter, because it almost worked.

  6. Ok, Ok. Link removed and just the laptop name stated, sorry for having like an email account 5 years old. my bad.

Allso what introduction do you need to me, i explained the situation of why i was looking for a laptop and the purpose aswell as my name.

    No worries, man.

Usually when folks show up here they land in the Welcome Wagon section first. Just something to say "Howdy. I'm a real boy." or something. Not your life story, but just something to let us know you're human. (no nudes, please. we don't want to overstimulate Cactus)

We have a whole lot of tech nerds around here. I'm absolutely certain that you can get some good help.

And, welcome to our little side of the internet. Make yourself comfortable.

Oh, and also ignore Speedy here.

And if you find a way to do that, please share with the rest of the group. He's been here years, and we still haven't found a way.

Id stay away from the acer aspire nitro series since they are known for spontaniously failing on the gpu & motherboard.

Also it would help with what you are looking to play as well so we can sort of establish a starting point instead of recomending just the very top of your budget just because we have a budget saying what we can reccomend.

If its fairly basic gaming like CS GO, Portal 2,TF2 maybe gta V on low - medium settings below a resolution of 1080p some laptop with a gtx 650m or gt 840m would be good enough.

but for having something that deals with gaming in a larger span id go with something having a recent gtx card or at least gtx 770m if you can find it used.

    I5, gtx 950m, 15 inch screen 744£

If you can manage to save up another 100£ this is probably the best you can get under 1000£

you could take a look at this page as well and configure a fwe models around until you have one fitting the price, budget & performance. (if you are picking a ssd to put in this thing do not take a kingston V300 the performance is not as advertised anymore due to them cheaping out on the nand chips for older ones with bad performance.)

  11. Thanks, i probably should have said in the main post, i kinda only play CSGO at the moment. I tend to stick too one game and stick to it religiously for a while.

I also saw this on CCL and wondered if you think its a good option, http://www.cclonline.com/product/17...B-Windows-8-1-GeForce-GTX-950M-2GB-/NOT01565/.

Preferably im looking for something not too stand out and look at this gaming laptop look.

  12. Have a quick peek at this: http://www.cnet.com/uk/products/msi-ge60-apache-pro-003/

As you can see it's quite a large laptop - depending on what you're wanting to do with it. If you're only wanting to use it for a little bit of gaming, but mainly as a travel companion/ note taking piece for lectures then it may not be the one for you.

  13. Definitely consider Gigabyte as a brand, their designers seem to really know what they are doing, given they can squeeze a 5th gen quad core i7 and a fucking 970M into a 1.7kg laptop: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5452#kf

Still plastic trash like 99% of gaming laptops, but very impressive
