As some of you might know, at GamesCom 2010 in Cologne Valve had its own Steam/Portal 2 stand, and they were giving away keys to everyone that asked for it. Well, me and my mates who have been there asked them several times during our 4 days there, and after I gifted a few keys to guys that I know they wanted to have these keys I still have some left here and don't know what to do with it but gift them to anyone.

Also, i got quite a few PNs concerning these keys, in fact more than i have left, so I thought about a possibility to spread these keys in a fair way without breaking anyones heart or beeing a douche to someone closer that asked me. So i decided to make it the only fair way I can imagine for this case and let your fortune decide, means: I am making a little lottery.


Which keys are be talking about here?

Well, these aren't Portal 2 Beta Keys (goddamn, I know :-/), they are keys for allready released Valve Games, I won't put any TF2 keys in here, since everyone of you strangers ended up in this Forum because you saw a link on our TF2 servers i guess, so these won't be part of this (unless you find a good reason why you need another key of course ). The keys I've got left are:

3x L4D2
1x L4D
4x Portal

NOTE! These keys unlock TWO copies of these games, one for you and you still have 1 copy left to gift it arround

(Also 1x Lead & Gold and 1x Shattered Horrizon key that someone else gifted to me and that i haven't used yet ... won't be part of this here either, dunno what to do with it yet, and some other keys, even for Hl2 + Epi1+2,and additional keys of the listed games, but these are planed away for RL friends that i want to "convince" to Steam with it, sry ;-) ...)

Please note that these are GERMAN keys, and that the german L4D1/2 are a bit cut, means: No cutted-off limbs, no (optically) burning zombies and corpses disappear after a few seconds. You might be able to switch this somehow if you contact the Steam Support and tell them you are non-german, but I cannot asure that, so be warned: Once you get a cut copy you might have a cut version at your account of these games forever. If you don't care about this since it doesnt influence the gameplay itself it doesnt matter anyways.


How can I win these keys?
It's pretty simple:

- DON'T PN-Spam me with a request! (If you do, you're out )

- Simply write a comment within the next 7 days in this thread, even if it's a simple "Goat" or "Derp", anything counts PLUS the game you want (multiple wishes are allowed, but pls be fair: If you allready have Portal or L4D2 for example, don't try to win another key, only evil and selfish germans do so ... )

- After these 7 days I will write all your names down on pieces of paper and let the fortune decide which names I pick out for EACH kind of game key seperately, but you cannot win more than 1 key, I will ask you in case if that happens which key you prefer before i continue with picking the names out

EDIT: Additional Rule:
- Only real Community Members can be part of this lottery, proove somehow that you are interested in our forum and that you are not just here to possibly win a key. At least a few hours played on our servers (we log everyone that comes to them, don't worry ), or more than 10 (serious!) Postings are necessesary to be free'd from the suspicion of beeing a key troll.



Pls note that it will be really nothing but pure luck that will decide about the key's new owner, it doesnt matter if you are a manager (mhh ... hopefully they won't threaten me now for keys D: ), Admin, Clan Member, PropHunt Admin or simply a Community member, this here is free for everyone and everyone got the same chances, to proove it I might record my little paper lottery if you don't trust a german (which i can understand, we are evil).

Got these games as well, so why not using it for their original purpose and make some ad for Steam-Games by spreading them to guys that don't have these gameys yet? : D

Can I have a tf2 key? You mentioned that you didnt list those since we here all already have tf2, but I have some smelly unfortunates for friends who either got hacked or lost their account the same way I did.

Edit: If you don't want to give me a tf2 key, l4d2 is fine too (same reason).

 

I know, thats why I wrote that I got more PN requests than i have keys left. Thats the reason for the lottery.




About your TF2 Key request .... will think about it. But I still wonder how you guys can get your accounts hacked. If it isnt through brute force + lame password it must be your own stupidy why your accounts got hacked, sry to say it this directly. My account havent got hacked so far, because of a very long and confusing password + a paranoid usage of this password by myself, NOONE will ever know it but me, and the Steam Client is the only thing I will tip my key in .... + my Rig is 100% free of malware of any kind and my account is safe by Valves additional -E-Mail-Trust system, no password changes etc. without my acceptence per mail ... my account is worth ~$2.5K+ meanwhile, would be a pain in the ass if it would have been hacked, but that won't happen.

 

I dont want any of the games (cos i got all except l4d2, but it does not work on my failtop ). V. Nice tho!!

 

Somehow I'm starting to get the feeling that noone wants a key here. xD

 

One guy bought killing floor through steam and something screwed up (he probably just failed and lied to me :3). He hasnt been able to get his account back.

The other just found out about steam, but he's poor. All he plays is alien swarm... He isn't convinced about how much fun valve games are, etc, while he's a fun guy to play online with.

Hum ...... rly sounds like lies and fail to me, it is hard to lose an account, simply tell the support to send new account data / password to the mail inbox you signed up your account with ..... :-/

I am not able to get my account back :3
Clickandbuy disabled my clickandbuy account permanently, steam doesn't accept the payment through any other payment system, etc. I'm stuck.

The first guy is still filled with false hope of getting his account back. Both of them, as I said, are just poor (and I would buy tf2 for them if I actually made any decent amount of money with my job >.>).

Again, if you don't want to give me a key for TF2, a key for l4d2/no key is fine. Put priority of your own friends over mine

 

Hey, you can be part of the lottery if you want a L4D2/L4D key, all I need to think about is the TF2 Key, which is not part of this here. ;-)

 

If you decide to give me a key, I would not want to be part (no need to be greedy and take 2 keys D: ). Otherwise, why not.

Also, shame they are not portal 2 beta keys, even if it would be 1 chamber. Silly valve.
