Help me building (pimp) PC Hey. PFRON is founding PC for me again, after 5 years. It's foundation for "disabled" persons, just like me, yay! Have a look here: http://www.pfron.org.pl/portal/en/1/1/State_Fund_for_Rehabilitation_of_Disabled_Persons.html I want to get a PC for 30,000 PLN (6,109 GBP (1 GBP = 4,90 PLN)). So yeah, anyone want's to help? I'm not good at hardware, i'm more like software king. Machine should contain: - CPU - RAM (DDR3) - Mobo - Graphics - Cooling - At least 2xHDD 1,5TB - Optical drive - Sexy chasis - Gaming keyboard & mouse - Speakers - Powerful ac - At least 27" LCD monitor - Vista Ultimate SP1 ENG DVD (BOX of course) - Microsoft XBox 360 Wireless Gamepad for Windows - And some nice headset
Re: Help me building (pimp) PC You could get top notch hardware pretty much across the board with a budget like that. Maybe even a consumer grade supercomputer...
Re: Help me building (pimp) PC I don't want to sound mean, but, in what way are you disabled? Also, I am sure us GM'ers can give you ideas for a nice PC in bits ;D I'd say an Intel i7/Q660 processor
Re: Help me building (pimp) PC Buy like 10 SSDs and make a huge RAID 0 out of them. And an ordinary external disk to backup on to ofc
Re: Help me building (pimp) PC You'll probably have some spare money to put some diamonds on the case with that budget as well. then it would truly be a pimp PC
Re: Help me building (pimp) PC I just asked myself the same thing. Would rather see 10 disabled kids go to a fun park for a day than to buy 1 super mega über pc for 1 person that will be outdated in 1 year. Not to be rude or anything but the budget is way off for a PC even for a professional workstation. End of moral ranting. Erik
Re: Help me building (pimp) PC We all know we wouldn't mind having that much cash to blow on a computer though. I wouldn't, I'd easily scrap my homemade £200 thing and go crazy online.
Re: Help me building (pimp) PC Machine should contain: - CPU : Intel Core i7 920 (easy to OC, don't pay extra for just some 200/400 mhz and pay 200 eur/GBP more) - RAM (DDR3): "any" brand in DDR3 would be ok - Mobo: Asus P6T deluxe; MSI's Platinum is also very nice - Graphics: ATI 4890 / Crossfire perhaps. If you are nvidia fan boy: GTX275 - Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper Z600 + additional fan of own choice - At least 2xHDD 1,5TB: Samsung 1,5 TB (spinpoint) for storage. for OS: Intel X25-M (more if you want RAID) - Optical drive: Any samsung - Sexy chasis: Big tower: Cooler Master ATCS 840; midi tower: Lian-LI PC7 - Gaming keyboard & mouse: Logitech G15/19 + G5 - Speakers: Not really my specialty.. but "any" logitech or creative set above 125 euro suits - Powerful ac: Cooler Master Real Power M850 - At least 27" LCD monitor: Not really my specialty, but samsung or dell always seem ok - Vista Ultimate SP1 ENG DVD (BOX of course) - Microsoft XBox 360 Wireless
Re: Help me building (pimp) PC Off topic but I agree if you pay yourself. If it gets funded because of some problems you have then I think something is wrong when you get 4x times as much as an average PC would cost to build. Especially if its taken from a countrys general tax fundings for people who need this kind of money. That's just my 2 cent about that. Erik
Re: Help me building (pimp) PC ya but in 2 years u need a new one cause there are new/better parts released
Re: Help me building (pimp) PC Xbox controller imo needs a wireless receiver for pc which is sold separately, although it's a real great config, wish I had at least the half of it's performance
Re: Help me building (pimp) PC Well, they're able to fund 50% of the price, i'm paying second part of the whole price. @Geitiegg: Wow, great PC. Now i need to check out prices in Poland ;p @Spyko: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asperger’s_Syndrome
