HLStatsX Suggestion

    Has anyone else noticed the way that when you have around 3,000 - 4,000 points it is impossible to get any higher because when people with around 1,000 points kill you, you lose 13 or so points. And not only that, you only get 2-3 points for killing them in return. That means you will need a KD of 5+ (only mextor could manage that :P) or for the server to be full of top10 people to actually get a positive score.

    I've seen other servers implement a system where the points lost are around half of the points gained for a kill. I think it might be a good idea for spitfire (or whoever it is that manages the hlstatsx) to implement this.

    on the hlstats server i used to play if say a noob killed u they would get 15 points or so ive had people get 30+ points for killing me before, but you only lost 2 points for each death for the same reason as you stated DarkImmortal. It just gets to hard to increase your score unless your mextor.

    I changed it to

    SkillMinChange 10

    stats are now farked no matter who kills me no i loose 10 points even if they are on the 25 kill probation period

    "SkillMode" => "3",

    # SkillMode - Mode of skill changes on frags with following options:
    # 0 = Normal (Victims lost all the points which the killer got).
    # 1 = Victims lost 3/4 the points which the killer got.
    # 2 = Victims lost 1/2 the points which the killer got.
    # 3 = Victims lost 1/4 the points which the killer got.
    # 4 = Victims lost no points.

    That's not it - that just makes it worse because now we lose a minimum of 10 points.

    Try changing that variable back to what it was, SkillMaxChange to, say, 6 or 7 and SkillMode to one of these: (preferably 2 or 3)
