Mini GM & Friends tournament Starts 17th April 2009

Welcome welcome one and all.

Yes the time has come to show off your skills to your peers and have a little bit of fun at the same time. This tournament has been arranged to celebrate the first year of the GM clan. (more on this later)

I am looking for 8 teams to join enter into this contest of epic proportions,

The tournament will be on a knockout basis. Each match between teams will consist of 2 maps (best of 5). If there is a draw then a mutual map will be choosen - default map will be Badlands if agreement cannot be reached.

I will be asking a member of an independent clan to pull numbers out of a hat to match up teams. I have choosen a knockout model as its the easiest to run, and if successful and if there is enough interest I will hopefully create a mini league.

EDIT : After talking to some team captains, and bearing in mind how difficult it will be to organise lots of players, the tournament will start on the 17th April 2009. Team captains will have just one week to arrange a match with the other team they have been drawn against. The winning team captains may if they wish organise the next match within that week if possible. I am hoping all matched can be played within 1 week from 17th April 2009.

As you can see I am hoping that a 2nd GM team can be found, we certainly have enough good players in the community and clan to have one, if not, again we will open this slot up to another clan.

Can the team captains please post your team of 6 in this thread by next Wednesday at the latest. Normal 6v6 etf2l rules (1 mediic, 1 demo, no crits, rules) apply etc. If on the night you need a sub then thats cool as long as they are not in another team playing in this tournament.

This event will take place on the GM Warserver with source tv and recording up and running - fingers crossed.

That sounds awesome, sadly (if I was allowed to play that is) I can't make Friday, Saturdays : ( NOoooooooooooooooooooo!

Sounds awesome, I am pretty sure my team will be up for this!

Though I can't say it with 100% certainty yet (as I haven't even asked anyone yet) I think it's pretty safe to say we're in
