It doesn't look like you'll be overclocking. If you were, you'd be using a K chip, rather than a normal one.

You could probably drop the i5 4570 down to an i5 4440, since the differences in performance are minimal.

You might want to switch out Z87 motherboard with something else, since you really only need one if you're overclocking and working with dual-GPU solutions.

Are you willing to consider AMD for your GPU? If you are, you could save quite a bit of cash.

  3. The reason he probably didn't get the 4670k from scan was they don't have it in stock currently.

Whats wrong with the "MSI GeForce GTX 770 Twin Frozr Gaming Edition Graphics Card - 2GB" ?
Is it too much for the rest of the build?

  5. Agreed on the R9 270x, but a 240gb+ ssd really isn't necessary unless it is the only form of storage

There's very little gain by putting games on ssd, and 120gb is enough for windows and pretty much all programs

  6. I would agree but double the storage for £27, is a bargin.

  7. holy fuck that's cheap, in that case go for it

  8. Pretty much and the fact it's almost £100 more and you don't get a massive jump in performance.

Ok thanks, would you say amazon is the cheapest place for those parts?

Just do a Google and press the shopping tab.

Scan do some good deals now and again, their shipping is shit though, it's like 4 quid or something so unless you're buying a lot of stuff from them, I'd look for something with free shipping.

CCL are good for deals and sales, ebuyer is good too but their not-on-sale prices are usually a bit higher that they probably should be.

Used those and saved £22.55 in total across CPU, GPU and screen, wasn't worth changing from amazon for a few pennies on the other things.
The sites returned are aria and alternate

EDIT - Just worked out its cheaper to stick with amazon due to delivery charges haha

Is the cpu cooler compatible with the 4670k?

I've just read the cooler is compatable with intel LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA2011 but the 4760k is LGA1150?

  17. From Arctics website it does state is it compatible with 1150

Do you think it will block any of the ram slots?
