I quit this Clan! Fucking unreliable servers be fucked, yo.

 

All sites were down for a few hours to tidy up the damage caused by a script kiddie who managed to successfully hack the server to a limited extent, in what appears to be an attack directly aimed at GM and/or myself

Specifically this cancerous little shitstain

mfw 'a few months' turns out to be < 3 weeks

I wish I knew what happened last night, just about managed to drunkenly type reboot in SSH and thankfully everything started working again

 

prophunt continually crashing resulted in an important partition being filled with coredumps, which then killed mysql and caused minor corruption

issues began at 5am from what I can see, but likely took several more hours to reach the point where shit started becoming unavailable. all resolved now

 

Down for about an hour due to DDoS again

I'll have to come up with a way of killing the gameservers automatically when this happens, because the particular type of DDoS allows them to continue to function with massive lag, which is obviously not a good image for us

 

The cause of the downtime last night was a line card exploding in one of the insane £80,000 routers underpinning the network

Not all users were being routed through this router hence some people (@SnuggleMuffin) could still access things
