Update Log

Discussion in 'Server/Website Chat' started by Dark, 10 Jan 2010.

  1. Removed tr_walkway_rc - it clogs up an entire core even when empty.

  2. Sorry Dark, I was on it yesterday when things were quiet :(

  3. Fixed avatars not being downloaded properly for the Item Drops page, or the index page top 5 blocks (although they were cached on the latter).

  4. Geit Coding wizard!

The Item drops page now also doesn't show medals as hats and correctly recognises when an item has been crafted and when it hasn't

  5. Fixed multibyte characters not being stored or displayed properly on the item drops page.

  6. The DarkiSock IRC bot is now up and running again. :)

  7. After fiddling with setmaster in the configs, our TF2 servers now show up properly in the internet list at last D:

  8. Fixed PropHunt sig image script :)

  9. Tweaked MySQL a bit for less CPU and RAM usage, and more speed :)

  10. Fixed cron jobs (such as sprays) not working properly, I think, and added the hlstatsx daily awards script which I somehow forgot about.

  11. We have just successfully booted into our new realtime patched linux kernel :D

    Code:
    [root@gamingmasters ~]# uname -a
    Linux gamingmasters.org 2.6.33.4-rt20 #1 SMP PREEMPT RT Mon May 17 21:59:54 BST 2010 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
    inb4 solid 500 fps TF2 servers

Sadly we reset our uptime before it hit 1 month :<

Edit: fragaholics.de | server FPS meter - Fucking win (compared to our previous quality index - 0.0 unplayable)

  12. Spykodemon Disabled account

SO how is linux in comparison to windows then?

  13. Now show us the one for #3 earlier on today :P

  14. Far faster, more stable, easier to use - just awesome :D

Here's one from not too long ago: :P

  15. Added some stats to the footer :>

For anyone unfamiliar with load averages, anything over 4 on the first number is sustained 100% CPU usage across all 4 cores for a minute.

  16. Yes, I broke it >.>

Is this at the top of /var/log/boot.log bad: ?

    Code:
Gmodprobe: FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.33.4-rt20/modules.dep: No such file or directory
Even though it exists and I've run depmod -a :S

  17. Mole45 Dance Little Liar

    Well done darki

  18. It's FATAL Dark!!! Run for your life!! :O

  19. Send in the goat to fix it, if he fails we will have a feast.

  20. Did a make clean and compiled+installed the kernel again from scratch and the error is gone :D

Hopefully that should be the end of the instability :)

The output of lsmod is encouragingly longer:

    Code:
    [root@gamingmasters ~]# lsmod
    Module Size Used by
    sunrpc 133334 1

    serio_raw 2916 0
    dcdbas 3716 0
    radeon 545990 1
    ttm 32646 1 radeon
    drm_kms_helper 17739 1 radeon
    drm 107039 3 radeon,ttm,drm_kms_helper
    i2c_algo_bit 3523 1 radeon
    i2c_core 11819 4 radeon,drm_kms_helper,drm,i2c_algo_bit
Assuming that error meant we were running without kernel modules, we're fucking lucky the ext4 filesystem drivers were compiled in, along with everything needed for SSH to work.

Otherwise we would have a very dead dedi.
