World Cup Discussion/Circlejerk Thread

This thread will probably not be all that active to be honest as I don't think a whole lot of people here follow the football all that much. But, with the opening match over and done with I felt I may as well chuck a quick thread together just in case anyone is that interested.

Don't know about anyone else but after tonight's game I think Brazil have already proven that they're a tad sketchy with that penalty against Croatia. I would stick a replay in but I can't find any up yet. Basically, ball was getting close to Croatia's goal, Fred (Brazil) was being marked by Dejan Lovren (Croatia) and goes for the ball but as soon as Dejan Lovren lays a hand on him he's on the floor yelling at the ref. There was little to no force behind Dejan Lovren yet Fred almost throws himself to the ground. Granted this was probably more a bad decision by the ref but I think it's still foul play on Brazil's end.
The penalty that resulted from that was a bit dodgy too with Neymar and his just-about-legal run up to the ball.

Croatia's second goal was then disallowed for one of two reasons that are slightly unclear at this point. What it looks to be is a foul on a Brazilian player in the run up to the goal, but it could also be contact with the Brazilian goalie from a Croatian player in the six yard box which would be illegal. If it is the latter, then whether the contact was legal or not is questionable as it was not totally purposeful, and the Croatian player did not have his arms in the way of the goalie either.

Anyways, this thread will likely end up with one or two posts and then never be seen again but the world cup is the only time I really pay an adequate amount of attention to football and I do love it.

Bet on 2 different things on this game. Brazil over 2,5 goals. Croatia 8th Corner. Brazil one was correct and I got slightly more back than I invested. I expect to bet quite a bit on this World Cup.
