    Adressing inflation - HlstatsX

    The current condition of hlstats has a huge amount of point inflation. - (50k in 1 month[For one player]).

    This thread is a discussion about the current system and what can be done to reduce the amount of inflation.

    The current score amount can be found here: Clicky
    The current "Kill/death points" are:
    Maximum 10 points
    Minimum - 2 points
    Skill mode - 2


    Anyway; Here's my suggestion.
    Code:
    Skill mode - 1
    Backstab - 2 points to 1 point
    Built Sapper - 2 points to 0 points
    Built dispenser - 3 points to 2 points
    Built sentry - 4 points to 3 points
    Built teleporter - 2 points to 1 point
    Suicide - -2 points to -20 points
    Point captured - 5 points to 3 points.
    
    Skill modes:
    0 = Victim loses all of the points killer gained
    1 = Victim loses 3/4 of the points the killer gained
    2 = Victim loses 1/2 of the points the killer gained
    3 = Victim loses 1/4 of the points the killer gained
    4 = Victim loses no points.

    Feel free to make suggestions and discuss. :)

    I think suicide should be 0 actually, cuz if you're juggled and fall to death, you loose 20 points like this. Also, when crap engie builds teles so you get stuck at the end and you suicide to free yourself, you'll loose 20 points... Bad thingy imo

    Btw, I noticed yesterday when Jonash's sentry killed me, he gained 10 points for killing me (I lost 5) while he has 50 000 points more than me.. That needs to be fixed

    Just my suggestions, I really think suicides should not be extreme punishments because there are many cases where you have to suicide to get out of them, for example when a engi think's its amusing to trap his own team between 3 other teliporter exits.

    I also noticed HLstatsX is playing up a bit, even though my current score is low I noticed that sometimes when I killed someone with a level at the same as me, I either raped their points, got nothing or they somehow gained points when I killed them, which is confusing a bit.

    anyway thats a bad point, and i would think 1 point for zapper.
    all the others are fine.

    Yes, I think it's 2 points per HS.

    Forgive my sleepyness on this, but I dont get the skill mode 100% :$
    Can anyone explain a bit more..

    And would it be possible.. only to give points to a sapper, if the target is destroyed?
    This would require the spy to have some more skills, than just sap and run and hope for the best...

    And suicide.... mmm.... 2 points loss seems ok to me.

    rest is fine expect;

    sapper from 2 to 1 points
    and suicide 0 points.

    While I like a bit of self-destruction as much as the next guy, losing so few or no points leaves it open to exploit..if people bind an easy key to suicide they can potentially use it to escape sticky situations, which I think is what we're trying to avoid here.

    Mentioning 2 points backstab and hs..won't that just make inflation worse? :P Although I dunno..might not be bad for me ^^

    2 points for backstabs and headshots is fine with me.
    As it actually requires some skill to pull off multiple headshots and backstabs (which you hate thanks to me :dance:).

    Headshots and backstabs already get 2 points, which gets changed to 1 point due to the fact that any critical kill is -1 point.

    It'd be 3 messages actually, one announcing the kill, one announcing the backstab and one announcing the crit loss.

    Ohhhh ok that makes sense. I still don't like the critkill loss but whatever.

    And reag XD I hated backstabs before but man you know what you're doing ^^
