I know a lot of you are interested in starting code in any form / language I came across a rather neat program for you to easily make and edit files http://www.panic.com/coda/ Looks kinda cool has FTP and MySQL integrated (helpful for websites) Should I or anyone use this or stick to notepad ++ ???
>Mac only >$99 Notepad++ should be all you need really, no need for a bloaty costly program IMO. @Sim - Real Programmers write in Machine Code. Only marginally easier than butterflies xD
Notepad++ if you want to be cheap (free). SublimeText 2 if you're actually willing to pay, I find it's far better than Notepad++ for most modern languages.
Notepad++ does what its designed for, its not pretty but doesn't need to be and anyone can make plugins for it. SublimeText is what a lot of people use as of late, it's got a nice interface and is updated constantly but like said, it costs. Coda is amazing if you're a developer who uses OSX, but its not worth the $99 price tag for a single license. In the end its personal choice, I just like notepad++.
Hate coding in a plain text editor almost as much as I hate coding in a non-native IDE (Eclipse and other java-based shit, visual studio to an extent (older ones generally slow, newer ones unresponsive), etc.) Proper native ides that run as smoothly as notepad++ are so much nicer (phped for example)

Ah cool... To be honest, I don't tend to use Mac OS these days unless I'm audio editing since I have fancy schmancy software for that. I'll stick with Dreamweaver etc for now...
