Did you try the normal stuff like compatibility mode etc. and complete reinstallation ?! I was running TF2 on my Win7 Beta paritition earlier this year and it worked .....

yeah...re-installation of steam & tf2 was the 1st thing i did. compatibility modes didn't help either

Btw..... never really payed attention to it: what net framework version is in win 7 preinstalled ?! it sounds weird, but that (missing) crappy little plugin caused many many weird bugs in former windows versions, just check it plz xD

Im back to Windows 7 *x64*. installed tf2 already. will try tonight.

it should work the same way when I tried it two months.

I have to say that all of my games run like 2x better on 7 than they did on vista and like 5x better than they did on xp

If you haven't checked already....

Download http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php (Get the latest version).

Monitor your GPU Heat, play TF2 / some games and if the issue occurs then just keep checking on the monitor. See what temp your GPU jumps to.
I have a feeling what may be happening is, for some reason your GPU is overheating and you may have some software which automatically underclocks it once it reaches a certain heat. That would probably be causing the random freezes and it continuing again.

The latest version is v0.27 b4, however I can't find a working download for it anywhere :/ The latest one I could find is 0.26 and I haven't tried the link above.
Anyways once you have that installed and run, click on 'Scan for Artifacts'. If you have some issues made present there then I think your GPU is kinda bust and needs replacing.

Not sure if Bura is on Nvidia or ATI card, but if on Nvidia card, dont use the latest 191.37 driver.
That can cause quite some issues.
(Some people still stick to the old 182.xx drivers)

This still sounds like a sound-driver releated issue to me, Bura told me that disabling his sound did increase the time in-between stuttering, but did not remove it completely.

thx very much but it didn't help. First of all the game worked smoothly on previous OS. Also i played GTA 4 & Mirrors Edge which require much more resources than TF2 and they worked perfect. So i think the problem is not in the GPU.

i have gefoce 8800 gt & 190.62 driver version and it's ok...

i think the source of the problem is in the network drivers/settings because as i said before, the game doesn't lag when i play on the server i create. When i disable sound the amount of the transmitted information reduces that's why the period of lagging decreases. I'll wait for the Win 7 official release which is on October 22 and install it. Maybe then i won't have any problems...
