Within a few weeks of having my dads computer, it BSOD'd on me. After thorough trial and error I found I'd melted my Intel 2 quad 6600 2.4GHz. This of course, was not cool.

And so I set out on an amazing adventure around town to find new parts. Thus, after singeing a hole in my parents pockets, it is fixed.

Pros:
Sexy new case
New 1 TB HDD
Better Mobo

Con:
Stuck with an Intel pentium 4 3GHz >.>

But can't you get a cheap s775 cpu then? Even a E7200 is faster than that Pentium4 you have now

Im not sure about your budet of course.

The 8800 GT is quite old now as well

Still run perfectly, still more powerful than anything under the 9800.
To be honest, theres not much of a difference between the 8800 and the 9800.

What choo talken about, I get a nice +20fps on spambowl.



(But then mine is hyperthreaded and the whole 0.2ghz MIGHT MAKE SUCH A HUGE DIFFERENCE... not).

As for the CPU, i'm hoping to get another Quad Q6600 for Xmas, or something roughly the same.

I've seen a 42", it's basically a TV except it says monitor on the back.

P4, omg ...... dude, sometimes i am at the limit of my 4 cores and think i need more somehow, how can you survive with a Single-cored toaster like the P4 ? >_>


At least get an E8400, or a "low-cost" E7400 ....... ill have bad dreams now, because another one i know is still at single core .....

To melt of fry your CPU, you need to apply quite some vCore, before that happens O.o

And for hyperthreading --> Atom uses it too
