Mumble now forcing Opus voice codec (aka it's time to update to 1.2.4)

Discussion in 'Server/Website Chat' started by Dark, 7 Jan 2014.

  1. Previously we were using CELT 0.7 (I think Kirino prevented 0.11), so voice quality should be a fair bit better now

We should have switched long ago, but I wasn't actually aware it was possible without me having to make changes to Kirino.

Anyone on Mumble 1.2.3 or older (a minority of people) will need to update in order to speak or hear anyone. A warning will be displayed when connecting if this applies to you.

  5. Don't know how I missed this thread :v I sent out the alert as there were quite a few people using the older mumble client and couldn't understand why people weren't talking to them :P

  6. Seems some people are still having problems even after updating, heck even I had a problem and I have used 1.2.4 for ages.
