  1. Gaw discord is my friend now

    We have finally created an official Gaming Masters discord! This is something that I've wanted to see for a very long time. Let me also be clear: Mumble is not going anywhere. Discord is just an additional offering. And it's happening thanks to your awesome support in Slothbox and the previous thread!

    Functionality is growing constantly:
    • Core roles for Managers/Discord Admins/Server Admins and Established Members.
    • All the essential text and voice channels, that will change based on their activity.
    • Over 20 emoji so far.
    • Tatsumaki and Dyno are our core bots for fun and administration.
    • Darkisock support!
    • Default bitrate is 64kbps, General #2 has been set to a higher 96kbps bitrate to test.

    Thinking about it, dsock integration would be as simple as taking the old dsock irc bot and putting it in a private irc channel with one of the many discord irc bridge bots

    theres a very good music bot called SexualRhinoceros which is super lightweight and very easy to set up, unlike most discord bots it needs to be hosted locally on a computer/server so it would be great on the dedi as a music bot for the discord.

    Tatsumaki - One of the biggest and most popular discord bots, universal bot that is on a lot of big servers, offers a whole of lot of miscellaneous stuff which is nice to have, also adds some more moderation tools and general server toolshttps://www.tatsumaki.xyz/

    Ub3r b0t - Along the lines of Tatsumaki, a lot of miscellaneous commands for users, searching on a lot of sites (yt, google, amazon, etc etc), setting usernames for different stuff (snapchat, steam, last.fm etc) so people can look it up through the bot and more- https://ub3r-b0t.com/ https://ub3r-b0t.com/commands

    Dynobot - A bot that mostly helps moderation, not very critical atm as the server is pretty humble in user size but it doesn't hurt to have it just in case. https://www.dynobot.net/

    Can anyone confirm this is best music bot? We do need one, but it will need to be self-hosted by @Dark. All the other bots are working pretty well now, and there is a !mumble and !forums command. Anime bots are being contained to the #weeaboo-corner channel. We must continue to keep the bot spam of tatsumaki etc outside of #general.

    http://docs.frederikam.com/selfhosting - this one wasnt built for self hosting but is also possible

    theres not that many self hostable music bots, sexual rhino is the most well known out of these three and ive seen it used plenty so id recommend it

    So ended up doing this, plus some hackery to make text look less shit in discord and to recognise discord messages as from discord

    Also integrates with slothbox because apparently I added that to the irc bot at some point

    Added a daily auto restart to the irc bridge portion of it, as it seems to have lost connection for the past few days without trying to reconnect
