Stopped off at a truck stop to fill up on gas and grab a pack of smokes.
While at the gas pump, car pulls up to the pump on the other side of mine. Lady driver with a guy passenger.
Guy hops out of the car and heads into the store. Lady starts filling up and is visibly distressed. Almost in tears.
Me, being me, inquired what the problem was. She explained she only had $5 to use for gas and it had to last the rest of the week.
Without being asked, I offered to top off her tank from my fill up. She thanked me and accepted my offer.
While filling up their tank, guy returns and decided to take offense at my generosity. He inquires if I think he can't provide for his girlfriend and tells me he doesn't need my charity.
Still filling tank, I explain that it's no problem for me and I would really like to offer some help.
He throws a punch at me and clips me across the jaw.
Head snaps back, but I don't stagger at all. I've been punched many times before, and much harder than this fellow.
I remove pump handle from tank, point it at the young man, and spray his jeans and sneakers in gasoline.
He dances back, now sodden with very flammable fluid, as I remove my lighter from breast pocket of overalls.
I calmly return pump to gas tank and resume filling up their tank, all the while just staring at the would be pugilist. He keeps a far distance and remains silent.
Pump clicks on full, I remove handle, and return to my car to resume filling it up.
They leap into their car and leave rapidly.
Finish filling up my car, buy pack of smokes, and head into work.
Earlier this week I came up with a process solution to a big problem that's been an issue since our company's new system went live at the beginning of the month. I let the manager know, and soon enough, my solution was reviewed and approved by the senior guys I've never heard of. Now, my solution and the little tutorial I typed up have been circulated around the company under my name and my area managers are sending in praise. It feels really, really fucking good.
My good friend - who happens to be the guy I replaced - just got approached for a pretty damn amazing opportunity higher up off the back of some good work he did. Shows the company is watching, and I am excited all things considered.
Can you just stop, seriously. God is only 17 and doesn't have any/much income, If his parents wouldn't spend the extra £50 then there's nothing he can do about it, the GTX 660 is a perfectly good card and will play pretty much anything. If he hadn't bought it yet then I could understand suggesting the 760 but he's already paid for it so telling him he bought the wrong card isn't going to change anything.
On another note I think karma has come back to me for helping that old lady on Monday
the day after (Tuesday) I seen a girl in the bus station and she smiled and waved at me and i thought it was a girl I knew so I did the same, turned out it was a random girl
When she got off the bus she turned and waved again so I got off the bus at her stop as well to talk to her but I bottled it because I'm a wimp, I looked back tho and she was looking back at me too and then I had to walk the rest of the way home because I got off so early
Then yesterday (Wednesday) I decided to man up and see if she would by any chance be at the bus station/on the bus but unfortunately she wasnt, but I got off at her stop anyway and then realised how creepy this seemed, so I replied to a FB message on my phone real quick then started walking, then I glanced right and she was sat at the bus stop and she waved at me.
I crossed over and the first thing she said was "Do I know you from somewhere? I swear I recognise you" Which is weird cause I was about to say the exact same, and then she said she went home and facebook messaged the person she thought I was, which was even weirder because I then said I did the exact same thing
Long story short I got her number and we're now going for a meal and some drinks this Saturday
I dreamt I was getting up to go to work, but body parts kept just falling off me.
I rolled out of bed, and felt weird. I looked back, and my left arm was still in bed, severed at the shoulder.
What has me laughing was my reaction to it. No shock or horror. Just "Ah, fer fucks sake. That's going to cost me some fucking money. How the fuck am I going to go to work now?"
I went to take a shower and half way through shampooing, my right arm just slumped off and landed at me feet.
Again, it was met with mild annoyance. "Oh well fuck, how the hell am I gonna brush my teeth? I better call the hospital. Ah fuck, how do I do THAT now?"
I woke up annoyed about my lazy fucking arms, and have been laughing since.
Moved into my new home yesterday - and by Jesus it's so much nicer than I remembered when we had visited to look around! The kitchen is really nice and big, and I'm really happy with my bedroom!
Finally received the big payout from closing out my account from T. Rowe Price.
I was able to pay off my only credit card, pay off my car, get caught up on monthly bills and yearly car insurance, and have a nice little nest egg to last me a while.
On a note for this thread: This year is going to be the best year yet
I have a good job, good colleagues, decent money coming in. I have a savings account set up and general savings in my bank which is unlike me.
Also eating healthy now and making smoothies out of fruit and shit, my spots are clearing up and I'm gaining confidence.
Plus meetup this year! That will be amazing
I'm also starting my driving lessons next week and I got the company van for free and my insurance is covered on the companies budget - which means I have to pay for private petrol only. holy sheeeeit
